How do i remove an old mounted pillow block ball bearing without destroying the roll-bar?
I’ve got 6 pillow block bearings that are all too unusual a size to use my gear-pulls. I’ve tried deep-creep and leverage and still can’t get it. It’s eccentric.
I assume that there is a bit of rust between the bearing and the roll-bar but I’ve never met a product that easily destroyed the connection.
Any suggestions?
Are these poured, Babbit bearings, by any chance?
They can gall creating enough ‘roughage’ that may be causing part of the ‘rust’ issue.
