My GE microwave does not cook and the turntable does not turn unless I hold UP on the door.?
I used to have to just wiggle the door and it would continue to cook but now I have to hold the door up the whole time it is cooking. The timer works but the turntable does not turn unless the door is held up. I checked the door latches and they are fine. I can hear the lower micro switch engage if I press on it very lightly. I do not see an upper micro switch. Any suggestions?

Over the range.
You didn’t say what model or if this is an over the range unit. They are all pretty much the same. I doubt you will be able to see the microswitches unless you have taken the control panel off. There should be 4 switches and they will be double ganged. Unplug the machine and discharge the capacitor before you start to tinker. (Just place an insulated screwdriver across the two terminals of the capacitor. Then take a meter and check the switches. Has the door been compromised? Are the hinges damaged in any way? This will certainly affect the switching.
