Hands Magnifying

What is the smallest thing to the human eye?

without using a magnifying glass, glasses, or microscope, what do you think is the smallest thing the eye can see…the smallest things I can think of right off hand is a coffee ground, a sugar grain, a grain of sand, a hair lice egg(lol)..what can you come up with that is smaller than theses?

There is no one thing that is the smallest thing a person can see. It is different for each person because vision is different for each person. Whereas a whole bunch of people might be able to see a grain of sand, for some people it is too small to see clearly and for others, they can see smaller things than sand clearly. Clearly is the key word. Your criteria should include clarity. At the other extreme is a good example of seeing things far away. The Big Dipper has an extra star in it’s handle that only people with really good vision for seeing far away can see. It is nestled right next to the second star from the end of the handle. I can’t see it with the naked eye but my husband can. It would be interesting to know why you ask this question.
