Cabinet door hinges – what is meant by 1″overlay 1″1/4 overlay etc, the doors im making r thick-what do i need
I dont have the experience to make floating panel doors so im taking 3/4in ply and attaching a flat backed moulding to the front of it with mitered corners for a similar look.
this is making them fairly thick and i dont know what are the best kind of hinges to use.
I would like to use concealed hinges if possible but dont know which to get where the door wont hit the cabinet when opened.

In my opinion,when you overlay(open)the hinges,and put it on a flat foor.you can use a rule to measure it.the width is 1″,the length is 1-1/4″ or the width is 1-1/4″,the length is 1″.
In your word,i know that if you use 3/4″ thickness ply,i think the you can use concealed hinge/invsiable hinge (stainless steel or zinc alloy hinge) . the overlay width of it should not exceed 1-1/2″.1-1/4″is the best choice for you.And pls remember to use a strong connecting bar to prevent your cabinet.
