How to assemble 88 Jeep Wrangler full steel door handles! HELP?
I have an 88 jeep wrangler YJ and just put full steel doors on it and brand new door handles. The only problem is, my outer door handles do not stay in, they fall out when pulled or even driving. I have been told that I need a part that looks like a wedge with teeth on it. Can someone please tell me what this is or give me some advice? Thanks!!
I’m pretty sure there are two of those wedges in each door. Finding them may be difficult though. If you pull your door panel off, you may find the wedges stuck in the bottom, jammed into the pinch weld. Otherwise you can try a junk yard. When you do find them, put them in from the top, narrow side down to prevent them from falling out again.
