Utility Razor

Is a small knife legal on school property?

Someone told me one time that it was ok to bring a small (1.5 inch) knife to school. Is that ok? Or what about a utility knife/razor blade. I’m not trying to kill anybody, just for cutting things. I live in Texas if that makes any difference. Please no making fun of Texas schools are calling me a redneck, I’m not.
Well technically, scissors could be used as a weapon too. And for the guy that says there is no reason, I’m in ag mechanics and I do need to cut things sometimes where scissors aren’t very useful.

Regardless of the laws of the state, county or city you live in, it is the SCHOOL’S POLICY that dictates if this is ok. Because even if bringing the knife is legal under the law (meaning you will not be arrested) the school can still expel you for violating their policy. Schools can make their own policies and put almost anything they want in them.
Therefore, you must check your specific school’s policy first, and check with the administrators at the main office. If they say “Yes, it’s ok,” then you have nothing to worry about.
